Warm Air

From 15 August – 30 August 2026, the Chez Marguerite Gallery presents a solo exhibition of work by The FRYM.
Titled Warm Air, the show features a selection of dream-evoking paintings of imagined futures and the moments that continue to radiate warmth long after they have passed. 
This also marks FRYM’s first exhibition in France.

Chez Marguerite is located in 11th century historical village Aubeterre-sur-Dronne on the boundary between the Charente and Dordogne departments. The commune is part of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France (The Most beautiful villages in France).

The exhibition brings together landscapes and figurative works.

I have never believed that an artist is obliged to choose between creating only landscapes or figurative art. Landscape paintings are the record of my eye’s perspective. The physical act of seeing already introduces one body into the artwork. Even when no bodily image is present, there is never an absence of a person. There is only the absence of a second person. One is present: the viewer.

The bodily works are more direct expressions of earthly existence. They are not bound to a particular setting. The space is ultimately insignificant. Like icons, they communicate somatically. They are timeless, just as the questions they embody.

Warm Air softens the sight, opens the soul, and draws us into a state of drowsiness. 
Warm Air alters the climate; in doing so, it imperceptibly reshapes the ecosystem of familiar places from our childhood.
